DESIGN THOUGHTS

Design is important because design is in everything. Design Education should incorporate broader views of fulfillment and success, as well as introspective tools so as to inspire designers to enhance awareness of, and incorporate what-they-are in what-they-do.

It has been said that design cannot be taught. Every design problem has an unlimited number of solutions which never existed before. Thus, design values are always evolving and designers can only become experts of ever refining their own particular set of principles.

Can this process be made explicit in Design Education? If designing designs the designer, can designers deliberately design themselves?
